Four bloggers I am tagging:
Now I need to tag 4 other people. However, as I have learned, not all people would like to participate in this tagging game. So if you would like to be tagged, let me know. I’ll put your name with link to your blog on the list above. Thanks!
After I drank a cup of cappuccino from HEMA, I drew this while sitting at one of their tables. It was busy there, but I was fortunate enough to get a table right beside the window. Therefore I could sketch the view across HEMA on Oude Gracht. It was sunny but really cold. The coffee really helped.
I totally abused my moleskine this time. When I finished it was very wet.
I was trying to follow the technique described in a book. Using a sketch I made last year as a reference, I drew the flowers using a bamboo pen and waterbased ink (Ecoline). By the time the pen, which was loaded with ink, hit the surface of my moleskine, the sketchbook sucked up all the ink at once. It was quite difficult to control. I then brush some water over the ink.The sketch is supposed to be a loose ink wash. But the ink didn’t want to spread at all. I soaked the page with loads of water, it didn’t help. Once the sketchbook absorbed the ink, well, that was that then. I then added some watercolor to soften up the sketch a bit. It helped.
This makes me wonder, what kind of paper actually is best for ink wash?
Hey! The blog has a new look! That is correct! I finally got fed up with Blogger and decided to use WordPress. I really like the publishing and editing speed of WP. It also offers more possibilities! I still need to do some tweaking on some parts. If you find things/functions that do not work, please let me know! I really appreciate it!
Added note: If you have subscription to this blog’s feed (atom) via bloglines, you may get an error message when trying to read the feed. Sorry for that! I’ll try to fix that up a.s.a.p.

Now, I can’t finish modifying WP to my complete liking right now, because I am going away. I have an assignment in London for the next two weeks. So, I will not have time to figure out everything before leaving. I’ll be back for the weekend, though. Nor will be so happy to be home alone with the cats .
I am leaving on Tuesday, but I already started packing tonight. I began with collecting stuffs that are part of my daily routine and put them in small travel size bottles and pots. I like to travel light. While in London, I hope to make some sketches. I am not sure if I’ll be able to make sketches of the city it self, e.g. streets, architecture, etc., because during day time I’ll be occupied with work. It’s not a vacation (unfortunately!). I’ll see what I can do.
Well, when my health is acting ‘funny’, it takes care that it’s being ‘really funny’.
Sorry this is going to be another health post from me, since I have a problem with that right now. But this time I drew the related part instead of some non-related flowers.
It’s my swollen left eyelid to be exact. It all started with an allergy, then a nasty cold which gave me teary eyes for a few days. I have no idea what caused this last problem. My eyelid was a bit irritated earlier (read: itchy), so I touched here and there a bit and suddenly ‘poof’…it got thicker and thicker. Ok enough about this.
