Eefje, I am totally enjoying your recent sketches. Your style is loose, energetic, playful. Really has a lot of character. I also use a brush pen and love the way you can get varying line weights by squeezing the cartridge as you described. Makes for a more spontaneous sketch than a standard ink pen would.

Also wanted to say I really like your sketches of people, the passengers you observe and it's fine that some turn out like "caricatures" as you call them - that's what gives your drawings a unique voice, your voice. I'm glad you don't try to sketch like everyone else does - I love your sketches just the way they are.

Thank you everyone!
Kamuelacarol: I used Pentel color brush GFL in black. It's with disposable cartridge, which you can squeeze to get more ink flow. Hope this helps!

I like the way this brush pen handles. I've never used one before... now I should go buy one to play with in the studio. They look "in the moment"... very nice!

What kind of brush pen are you doing that gives you this charcoal feeling to these great sketches? I just returned from a trip to the tropics--all my sketches were with Tombo brush pens in a range of colors. I loved sketching with them, but they have a kindergarten look to them. These sketches of yours are wonderful.
