More birds

…or ducks to be exact.

And after I made these quick sketches, I felt guilty. Just before I drew these, I actually ate a sandwich filled with duck livers/foie gras for lunch. I got it from a local butcher near my office.

  1. Guilt is a terrible thing isn’t it? The bridge is lovely. Makes me want to write a haiku. Fortunately, I have some self control and won’t inflict that on you.

  2. Oh dear, what timing! Lovely illustrations, though :-)

  3. So pleasant, so calm. Very good.

  4. Your ducks are beautiful …! And I can understand the guilty feelings! LOL The woodland bridge is AWESOME! Love the rendering – beautifully done!

  5. Beautiful sketches… like a story book, that bridge reminds me of fables and children’s tales!

  6. Thank you very much everyone!
Janey: I am actually not sure what a Haiku is.

  7. I love these drawings! The use of ink plus drawing pencil is very striking, especially in the bridge drawing.

  8. You’ve made them look so delicious! Sorry, just kidding! Nice birds. Love the line work

  9. A haiku is a short 3 line poem, 5 syllables, 7 and then 5. It’s an ancient japanese form of poetry. It’s an idea you can express in one breath, just the bare essentials of an image to convey a thought. The poems are very beautiful and your drawings remind me of them. If you google Haiku you’ll find lots of examples.

  10. Gorgeous. love the simple coloring. Love the bridge especially.

  11. Thanks Lindsay, Linda, and Lydia!
Janey: thanks for the explanation. I’ll certainly look it up!
