I decided that today is a good day to catch up with several challenges from the Everyday Matters Group. So here are my entries for challenge #25 (a drinking glass), #26 (vegetables), and #30 (a chair).

  1. lovely, all af them! you see how easy glass is? just draw what you see….. :)

  2. Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog. I am still new to the blogging thing…so the layout is still pretty quirky. And..I am rediscovering my “fine art” side after almost 30 years(!) of working as a package designer and raising a family with my husband (also a fine artist & graphic designer).

Most of my work, so far, has been pastel painting. Blogging has been a lifesaver for me since I lost my job in May. Especially when I see all the wonderful and prolific artists out there, such as yourself. Your drawings are beautifully expressive…and I love your experimentation with color.

By the way, Wally is my big brother.I am so lucky to have grown up with him.

  3. Great job as usual Evy. I love looking at your art.

  5. Very nice drawings, Evy. I particularly like the glass. What kind of paper are you using?

  6. Evy, I love the chair and the way you drew it concentrating on the contrasts between light and dark rather than the linear aspects of the subject. It is beautifully done. The glass is also superb. Well done. I’m going to link to your site on my blog. I love your work. :o )

  7. Evy, great drawings! I especially love the vegetables.

  8. Excellent work Evy. The glass is class, the chair looks very cushy and the vegetables are making me hungry. Great stuff.

  9. Evy,
The chair shading and shadowing is just perfect against the darker paper. I like the way you work on different papers with different colors. Are these pastels or colored pencils?

  10. Hello everyone!

Thank you for your kind comments.

Jim: I used ingres paper from my Fabriano Artist’s Journal for these sketches. Always fun to use.

    Maggie: these are (water)colored pencils.

  11. I like these very much. Compared to many of us who “draw” or sketch based on the IF topic or EDM topic, these look like finished PAINTINGS. Now I’m wondering what I’d have to do to my things so I FEEL they’re “finished”!!
