Honestly, I have no idea what he is saying…I was just doodling aimlessly. This is just one of my ‘rambling sketches’. I was inspired by the fact that I have to go to my biology class this evening (first lesson). However the weather outside is not co-operating at all. It is raining hard and very windy. An umbrella will not stand a chance and I do not have a rain coat!! Phhhwwttt!

The cats say …

Miauw miauw…in 2007 we want better quality food, more food, longer massages, regular manicure and pedicure, better grooming….etc, etc.

I have made sketches of them over and over again but I have never shown their photo’s on my blog. So here they are. I had 8 cats on Januari 1, 2006. This year the gang has only 6 members. Pirozjki has been living with her new owner in Hilversum for a year now and sent her love (via the owner, see bottom picture). Red passed away last spring.

Joseph Guy

Joseph Guy (Joe; Joey). Ex-male. Type: Maine Coon. He’s the boss at home.

Bacardi

Bacardi (Bac). Ex-male. Type: Ragdoll. He takes 2nd place in the ranking.

Wasabi

Wasabi (Blobp; Wasaaab). Ex-female. Type: Housecat/European shorthair. Can get really catty to the others especially to the ex-males. She suffers from chronic renal failure.

Salami

Salami (Fatso, appropriate name seeing the size of her body). Ex-female. Type: Housecat/European shorthair. Always runs screaming throughout the house, but is relatively friendly to the ex-males.

Koolrabi

Koolrabi (Koolcat or Kool (o pronounced as in owner)). Ex-female. Type: Half Norwegian Forestcat, half European shorthair. Very sweet, likes to sit close to us or on our lap. Will sit on your chest when you sleep.

Gurami

Gurami (Gui). Ex-female, sister of Salami, but then the skinny version. Type: Housecat/European shorthair. Very hyper cat, tough to approach, but can also be close to us.
Joey vs Bac

Joey vs. Bac. Sleep boxing.

Pirozjki or Pi (below) enjoys her new home in Hilversum very much, according to Madelon, her new owner. We are very happy to hear that. Madelon sent this pic of Pi to us along with the Xmas card. Very sweet. We still miss her.

Update

It’s been a long time since I last updated this blog. And in the last 6 months or so, many things have happened in my life. First, the last drawings I did.
Place des Vosge
Versailles flowers
Saint Michel
I realized a long time ago, that I was not happy with what I did. I kept rambling about it to many people, but I did not taken any steps to really change it until 2 months ago. My job didn’t hold any meaning anymore. Everything seemed to be superficial and I am not really excited about the field as in the past. So I have decided that it is time to find out what really matters, what will give me emotional reward and contentment in the end.

In early June, we went on holiday to Paris for a week. I made only 3 sketches while I was there, unfortunately. This holiday was more like a food therapy holiday for us and also some soul searching for me. We discussed lots of things about where I want to go, how do I go from here, etc.etc. We came back 3 kg heavier because of all the delicious food we ate and I found my answer.

Back at home, I enrolled myself in a local university and have gotten a response. I need to do 2 courses (chemistry + biology) and do the exams before I can start on the study I want to do. Not a strange decision from them, seeing that I didn’t do lots of chem of bio at my old university. Then I enrolled myself in the chemistry course and wrote my resignation letter.
The chemistry course, which started a month ago, has been really keeping me busy almost full time. Homework..homework..and homework. It is afterall an intensive course. However, I didn’t realised that chemistry is actually really fun to learn. The downside is that it really leaves me with almost no time to draw or blog. Internet has become a luxury to me. But I have no intention of stopping with drawing/sketching!

Swollen

Well, when my health is acting ‘funny’, it takes care that it’s being ‘really funny’.
Sorry this is going to be another health post from me, since I have a problem with that right now. But this time I drew the related part instead of some non-related flowers.
It’s my swollen left eyelid to be exact. It all started with an allergy, then a nasty cold which gave me teary eyes for a few days. I have no idea what caused this last problem. My eyelid was a bit irritated earlier (read: itchy), so I touched here and there a bit and suddenly ‘poof’…it got thicker and thicker. Ok enough about this.

Drip…drip… drip. I made the flower drip, just as my nose. I know it sounds disgusting. But that is how I feel with this irritating cold. Headache that doesn’t want to go away, leaky nose, itchy eyes, dry throat…I am not going to bore you with this. It is disgusting enough.

08.09 on 08.09

Yes. This is one of the few times I can post a journal entry on the same day as I made it.
Today I am in a touchy feely kind of mood. And because I know that it gets even more annoying. So my sensitivity level is doubled. Anything anyone says made me think like as if there is another meaning behind it. Oh, did she/he mean it? Is that honest? I am so suspicious of everything. (But that is generally how I feel for the last few months. I also feel like I am walking on eggshells..crack..crakk..crakkk..I wish it gone but it won’t) Then today when I was going home something tripled my annoyance. When I was going home, I felt thirsty. I had to catch the train, but I thought I had just enough time to grab a drink. So I went to AH TO GO to get a bottle of Coca Cola Lime. There was a line in front of the cashiers but I gambled anyway that it would be quick. Well it was so unfortunate that when my turn to pay came up, the cashier went to help his colleague beside him. I mumbled about having to catch a train, he only replied ‘one moment’ without even looking. I looked at my watch for the third time, turned around and put back the bottle and ran out to the platform. He saw me running and called out, “Sorry. I can’t do anything about it”. I looked at him angrily and just proceed with running out of the store. I felt like sticking out my middle finger at him, eventhough I understand that he was being helpful to his colleague’s client (another customer of the store). But I just hate to be the victim of slow service.

17.08 Result of Seminar

Uhm…another entry from that same seminar. I did the drawing in the train, put some color at home. This shows that I need a break. I am stuck in the same theme for 3 entries in a row! And that red eyes! Big mistake….now the character (me) looks like a Dracula.

16.08 Super Strong Cranberry Punch

Sunday August 21st 2005, 11:28 am
Filed under: Moleskine, Watercolor, Rambling, Food & Drink

I realize that I can’t possibly keep up with doing a journal page everyday. If only I had 2 bodies with one soul (kind of scary, isn’t it) that could do all I need/want to do in one day. One would be at the office doing my dayjob….the other one could run around, see, observe, analyse, and draw much much more interesting things…Or if one day could be 48 hours instead of 24? May be that’s not such a good idea either…since that might mean that I have to work longer too… Hmmm. Whatever. I will just have to try to manage/balance my day as good as possible. Or make a better time management.
So here is a journal page of 16.08 on the late side, since today is 21.08. Most of the next pages that I will post will also be “late”. They are not going to be posted on the day they are made.

By the way, I have included a delicious but very strong Cranberry Punch recipe in the drawing. We made it yesterday, and boy, it really helped me forget a nasty week :)

Yesterday - color version

OK, this is the color version of Yesterday (a post from a few days back). I am actually not sure which one is better. There is something “unsettled” in this color version, which I can’t figure out. May be it’s the use of too many color in too many areas? I don’t know…But it was still very fun to do it!
